Its been about two years now since I started my channel and grown in the reptile community. This journey on YouTube has been a lot of fun and hard work but when I see comments and new subscribers all of that work pays off. I just wanted to thank every one of you guys and gals for subscribing and watching my videos. It really means a lot when I see comments and “likes” on my videos. But Its not over yet! In fact were just getting started, I plan on creating even better and more helpful videos. So stay tuned because I’m going to have more interactive videos coming your way!

Be aware if you own a Bearded Dragon…

Atadenovirus

A new wide spread infection among bearded dragons was recently discovered. Atadenovirus also known as “Wasting Disease” is a very contagious disease that can cause serious illness or even death. (ADV positive) baby bearded dragons are often underweight and in poor health, they will usually not live more than 90 days. If your dragon has this infection then you should look out for these signs; slow growth rate, excessive weight loss, and spending allot of time hiding. ADV positive dragons that live past 90 days end up with liver or intestinal infections. The virus spreads to the brain and spinal colum and causes twitching of the toes and tail tip. It is also known to cause uncontrollable seizures in the dragons. Dragons that become infected as adults may suddenly die from neurological problems. The infection can spread from direct contact as well as from contaminated hands. you should be safe when around your dragons and other reptiles by washing tools and never recycle food of any sort. If you think your dragon is infected, you should take it to a veterinarian as soon as possible. This is a serious, deadly disease and should be taken seriously. Be safe and be aware.

Thanks to Reptiles magazine for informing the hobby
